Simplest way to be Mindful

I know, some of these words seem so overused, especially in the recent past, it probably must make you cringe when you hear (or read) about it. And its not about being trendy, or pseudo intellectual really, its more about embracing the fact that we are all just human, living in different stages of our own lives, be it based on age, stage or circumstances, each of us has a story, a role and something to add to this planet. If you didn’t exist, the world as we know it wouldn’t exist. (Really!!)

For me, being mindful means to be conscious of the fact that we are all here only for a short period. We are here for fleeting moments, between the time when we arrived and before our number is up, and accordingly adjusting our behavior, and actions.

It is about what we choose to do, how we live, and how much of kindness we leave behind as a trail of everywhere we have been. To be mindful is to be more deliberate to be more giving, be it in terms of advice, time, attention, anything. To share laughs, tears, my hopes and dreams with the people around us. To give more than we get. Better still, not waste time at all in stock keeping.

I find that the easiest, most simple way to be mindful, in your behavior, is to realize that it could possibly be your last encounter with a certain person, and treat them, and the circumstance with the gratitude and love it deserves. If it was the last ever conversation you were to have with me, what kind of a memory would you choose to have? That might alter our perspective.

None of us know for sure what tomorrow hold, hell! we don’t even know for sure what will happen a few hours from now.

“This is a brief life, but in its brevity it offers us some splendid moments, some meaningful adventures.” – Rudyard Kipling

So here’s the tip: You always have a choice, choose Love. To me, that’s what it means to be mindful.. ❤
